In this fast-paced world transitioning into Industry 4.0, Computer Science has become a part of K12 curriculum in some developed countries, e.g U.S. In Myanmar, the importance of Computer Science has not been well recognized and Computer Science education is not easily accessible for most children yet. Children from formal Government High Schools rarely get to be in touch with computers let alone learn computer science. Other countries have various initiatives working to educate students about CS and coding through free online-learning platforms which are available in their languages. Language barrier is one of the biggest factors that is discouraging Myanmar students to easily pick up online resources related to CS and coding by themselves. 

Thate Pan Hub ( Thate Pan means science in Myanmar Language)  is a youth-led non-profit social enterprise dedicated to provide a chance for every Myanmar student to get access to free basic Computer Science and AI education.Our mission is to deliver excellent and affordable computer science lessons which will help the learners develop analytical and logical thinking, basic computer literacy, and critical thinking skills through our free courses available for every Myanmar kid.

Thate Pan Hub has two main activities as of now, free basic computer science classes and awareness promotion.Since September 4 2020, Thate Pan Hub has been delivering free basic coding lessons for kids in Myanmar by utilizing free resources from Code.org. Till now, Thate Pan Hub has been so far able to deliver basic computer science lessons to 566 students from diverse backgrounds via online classes. We are planning to reach out to more than 1,000 students in the early months of 2021.  We are also trying to provide awareness promotion for the importance of computer science. We aim to develop a mindset shift which will allow parents to see computer science as a tangible option to their children’s education path and take part in this transformational journey. 

We are truly humbled to request your help in this revolution. Your help will be truly pivotal for us to go forward and reach out to as many children as possible. Your contributions will help us cover operational costs and conduct outreach activities when things get back to normal. 

For the 20 USD you donate, one child will be introduced to a 15-hour computer science course from Thate Pan Hub. For the 50 lakhs MMK you donate, about 217 children will be introduced to Computer Science courses.
